THE DIGITAL SINGLE MARKET

Preparing Europe for the new digital economy

15 May 2018 - 09:00 - 10:30
Mariya Gabriel, Dharmendra Kanani
Introduction

Europe needs to stay competitive in the digital economy and restore strategic and economic independence – or it will lose out.

How can Europe regain its leadership in technology and deliver a 5G gigabit society? What European initiatives exist that invest in disruptive technologies?

We’ll be talking all that and more in our ‘Conversation With’ debate with European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel. Completing the Digital Single Market has been a priority for this European Commission, to ensure that business, governments and citizens are fully able to benefit from the digital economy.
