About

The world is shifting fast. The rules and structures that have governed global politics and economics for decades are being dismantled with unprecedented speed. The return of Trumpism, and the broader rise of authoritarianism, threatens not just the stability of the current system but the very foundations of multilateralism, democracy and truth itself.

Europe now faces a defining moment. As external forces seek to exploit its internal divisions, the EU must resist becoming a passive bystander. It must stand firm in its values and assert itself as a stabilising force, a global anchor for democracy, economic fairness, and sustainability. This means being more assertive in its international partnerships, advancing a Renewed Social Contract, and proving that Europe can lead, even in the absence of traditional allies.

This event is by invitation only and is part of the European Young Leaders (EYL40) programme. Led by Friends of Europe, this programme is a unique, inventive and multi-stakeholder programme that aims to promote a European identity by engaging the continent’s most promising talents in initiatives that will shape Europe’s future.
