Reformig health systems in Europe

About

Health systems need major reform, modernisation and streamlining in order to be more efficient. But such structural changes are hard to implement and Health Ministers face an uphill battle to update health systems. Since healthcare is a national responsibility, what added value can Europe bring to this challenge?

In the report Adapting EU health policy to an evolving Europe, a multi-stakeholder Health Working Group led by Friends of Europe identified 21 key recommendations on what the EU should ‘Start’, ‘Stop’ or ‘Do Differently’ to improve the health status of Europeans.

Four months after their presentation to EU Commissioner for Health & Food Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis, which actions has the European Commission taken? And what role can the European Parliament play in launching a roadmap for their implementation?
