About

Space-based technologies are essential assets in addressing Europe’s environmental, social and economic challenges.

They provide critical data for climate monitoring and sustainable development, while also enhancing connectivity, enabling precise positioning and navigation and driving technological innovation.

As the first event of the Sky and Space Integroup of the European Parliament, leaders from theEU space sector will discuss the pivotal role of space applications in building a resilient and globally competitive Europe. The session will also address how space technologies are transformative across EU priorities.

The discussion will showcase specifically how Earth Observation (EO) strategically contributes to a wide range of key policy areas. Critical programmes like Copernicus – the EU’s Earth Observation flagship – notably highlights how EO supports the EU’s commitment to climate action, while simultaneously bolstering resilience, driving competitiveness and promoting sustainable development.
