In memoriam: Antoinette Spaak

This weekend, the Friends of Europe family lost a pioneer and a European icon, Minister of State Antoinette Spaak.

The granddaughter of Marie Janson, Belgium’s first woman senator, and daughter of Belgian Prime Minister Paul-Henri Spaak, went on to become the country’s first female party president and sat in the European Parliament for over 10 years.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her life partner and Friends of Europe President Etienne Davignon, her family and her loved ones.
