China’s ambassador to the European Union (EU) accused the United States of interfering in diplomatic and trade relations between the two blocs and rejected the idea of geopolitical and economic conflicts with the 27 member states.

“China sees relations [with the EU] from a long-term perspective […], they cannot be dictated by third countries,” said Fu Cong, alluding to the United States of America (USA), at the opening of the EU-China Forum, co-organised with Friends of Europe a think tank on European issues, in Brussels.
