Romania Libera | EU citizens consider natural disasters a greater threat than a possible war

This point of view is highlighted in a study carried out by “Debating Europe”, a member of the independent group “Friends of Europe”. The report entitled “2024 Voices – Citizens Speak Up!” took into account the options expressed, in 2024, by citizens of seven European Union countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and Sweden.

The authors of the study believe that the decrease in fears about the outbreak of war occurred as citizens generally felt a sense of protection as members of NATO. It should be noted, moreover, that all the EU countries from which opinions were collected are also NATO member countries.
