The victory of the far-right in the parliamentary elections in the Netherlands is part of a trend that is sweeping European countries, where the “cordons sanitaires” for extremists are falling, warned analysts consulted by Lusa.

“The victory of [Geert] Wilders cannot be interpreted individually as just a victory for the far right in the Netherlands,” Dharmendra Kanani, spokesman for the Friends of Europe think tank, told Lusa.
